Principal’s Report
On the 15th November, we bade farewell to the Class of 2019 who marked the end of their school career with a graduation dinner at the Quandong Cafe. The evening provided a mix of reflection and celebration in the company of families and teachers who have supported the learning journey of these fine young people. On behalf of those in attendance, I would like to express thanks to Matt Griffiths for staging this event.
This week our senior learners have transitioned to their 2020 classes so they can begin to build the foundations for future growth. These three additional weeks of learning offer our SACE classes an excellent opportunity to prepare for the challenges ahead and provide extra time to complete coursework. We encourage all of our learners to seize this opportunity to get ahead and reduce potential stress and workload issues in 2020.
We are continuing to finalise our staffing for 2020. On this note, I am pleased to confirm that Sarah Bury has won the position of coordinator for Learner Engagement and Curriculum Innovation for next year. I hope to confirm our final staffing for 2020 in the week eight newsletter.
Finally, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2020 Foundation class learners who have begun their formal transition to our school. The strong partnership between the Quorn Kindy and Quorn Area School offers continuity of learning for our young learners, thus providing the perfect environment for them to thrive. On behalf of these families, I would like to express sincere thanks to Maggie Kamin, Tegan Miller and Kate Neu for their excellent management of the process.
